SAN DIEGO, CA – February 11, 2021 — Reality Changers, a local nonprofit that prepares youth to become first-generation college graduates, is honoring three local community members with the Stronger Together Awards.

The Stronger Together Awards are an online video award series that celebrates individuals and organizations who have stepped up and helped out their fellow San Diegans during the COVID-19 pandemic. Inspiring videos profiling each honoree are being shared on Reality Changersโ€™ social media channels and website.

Award Recipients:
โ— Outstanding Partner – Davidโ€™s Harp Foundation
โ— Outstanding Alumnus – Stephanie Bueno
โ— Outstanding Volunteer – Laurel Wilkinson

โ€œWhile this pandemic has had devastating effects on many people, including the youth and families that we serve,โ€ explains Reality Changers President and CEO, Tamara Y. Craver, โ€œwe have been humbled and amazed by the generosity, creativity, and resiliency of our community. We wanted to do something special to celebrate that and to share positivity in these times.โ€

โ€œReality Changers typically gives out awards as part of our annual Malin Burnham Awards Dinner. For safety reasons, we are not hosting that event this year,โ€ says Ms. Craver. โ€œHowever, we have been so inspired by these recipients that we felt we could not pass up the opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments. After all, Mr. Burnhamโ€™s motto is โ€˜community before selfโ€™ and our honorees really exemplify that ethos.โ€

Malin Burnham is a local philanthropist, author, and America’s Cup Hall of Fame Inductee who has been an important supporter of Reality Changers and the San Diego community.
