  • CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

    Reporting to the Board of Directors and building on the successes of the organization, the CEO will provide strategic and tactical leadership inspiring support and advancement for the mission of the organization in the community, with donors, students and families, volunteers, staff members and all other stakeholders. The CEO has overall responsibility for the operating health and well-being of the organization, including strategic planning, fundraising, donor stewardship, community engagement, organizational development and management, fiscal management, marketing and public relations, program planning and management and operations. He/she is responsible for developing and maintaining a “business model” that produces exceptional mission impact and sustained financial health.

  • ACADEMY INSTRUCTOR (ORANGE COUNTY)

    Are you looking to make an impact by working with aspiring first generation college students? Reality Changers is currently seeking an enthusiastic and mission-driven individual to join our team as a full-time Academy Instructor! The Academy Instructor leads cohorts of high school seniors through the college application process and is responsible for delivering a comprehensive, weekly curriculum dedicated to enhancing the college-going culture of aspiring college students, and first generation students in particular. The services provided by College Apps Academy include but are not limited to: college search, application counseling, personal statement guidance, financial aid and scholarship support, and college survival skills.   • ACHIEVEMENT COACH (Full-Time)

    Reality Changers’ College Town program builds first generation college students by offering tutoring and mentoring resources to support the academic achievement, community leadership, and personal growth of 8-11th grade participants.

    The Achievement Coach is primarily responsible for holding students of College Town to the program’s high standards in an encouraging manner. The Achievement Coach role has a dual function– supporting College Town students, and challenging them to strive to meet their highest potential. The program sees each student holistically – not only working to help a student meet their academic goals, but their personal goals as well. This approach entails helping students to build their own self-awareness, resourcefulness, and resilience.

    The Achievement Coach, leads both group and individual coaching for the student body in College Town. Coaches drive the academic and interpersonal skills development of their students using study room time, school visits, home visits, one-on-one mentoring, and community service. Success in the role is primarily measured by the following outcomes:

    • Students are excited about attending Reality Changers every week, evidenced by consistent high attendance at program and events
    • Students that are motivated to raise their GPAs to a 3.5 and qualify for UCSD’s Academic Connections
    • Students can define goals and utilize the program to access resources to support them in achieving those goals (e.g. academic support, awards and opportunities, etc.)
    • Students strive to attend and obtain their grade-level expectation for community service

    Additionally, the Achievement Coach assists with the operations of Reality Changers’ office headquarters, Solana Beach site, programs, and events.  As the need arises, this person will work on additional College Town projects and organization-wide events. The Achievement Coach will report to the Senior Director of Programs.

  • INTERN, ALUMNI NETWORK

    The Alumni Network serves Reality Changers’ over 2,000+ program graduates by offering leadership opportunities as well as academic and career services: bringing graduates together to serve each other, their younger peers, and the network. The Intern will contribute to the operations of the Alumni Network program as it seeks to reconnect with and engage current Reality Changers graduates.

    During the internship, this person will learn about the internal operations of a growing non-profit organization and have the opportunity to contribute to one of its key programs, the Alumni Network. Many of the position’s responsibilities will be independent work that requires the highest regard for consistency of writing, data entry, and communications.

    This is an un-paid internship position that offers 10-20 hours per week.

    Reality Changers is looking for a Marketing/SEO Assistant to assist with social media engagement by helping to manage the College Apps Academy social and marketing channels. The Marketing Assistant will use their written and verbal communication skills to contribute to the development, design and maintenance of innovative marketing and social media campaigns.

    During the internship, the Marketing/SEO Assistant will learn about the internal operations of a growing non-profit organization and have the opportunity to contribute to one of its key programs, College Apps Academy. The intern will receive the valuable experience of building an email list and following to launch an online program in Fall 2018. Most of the position responsibilities will be independent work that requires the highest regard for consistency of creativity, writing, formatting, and editing.

    The Marketing Assistant is an un-paid internship position that offers up to 20 hours per week.
