Professional Mentor
Position Overview
The Reality Changers Mentor Program matches high school graduates with ambitious and compassionate career professionals. Together, the mentor and mentee build a meaningful connection and develop transferrable skills that will set young adults up for success after college. We are looking for mentors from all walks of life who are interested in supporting first-generation college students towards long-term success. Training is provided.
Timeline and Time Commitment
December: Application Open
January 16, 2026:Â Application Closes
Late January 2026: Orientation
February – June 2026
Meet once a month with your mentee for a minimum of an hour (virtually or in-person). The Reality Changersteam will give you and your mentee specific assignments related to goal-setting and making the most of your time.
Expectations
- Regular communication with mentee
- Regular meetings once a month, for a minimum of one hour
- Take a genuine interest in your mentee’s professional and personal success
- Participation in mentorship orientation and periodic check-ins
- Complete an interaction from (3-5minutes) after each student meeting
Additional Details
Mentors should have at least five years of professional work experience and a willingness to invest time and knowledge into the success of a first-generation college student.
