Nancy Maldonado is an accomplished senior executive with a proven track record in leadership and mentoring, skilled at creating high-performing teams and transforming culture. She is the first Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer at Rady Children’s Hospital, a nationally renowned non-profit pediatric care facility and California’s largest children’s hospital. Nancy provides institutional vision, thought leadership, and strategic direction within the executive leadership team, where her focus is to design and deliver a mission-centered strategy and programming to increase diversity, promote equity, and cultivate inclusion across the health system.
Prior to her current role, Nancy was the President and CEO of the Chicano Federation and has also served as the Community Health Director at the American Heart Association. She is a Master’s level course instructor at USD and an involved community member. Nancy has provided expert testimony for the California State Assembly’s Committee on Health and held statewide and regional appointed positions. She has also been featured on San Diego Magazine’s cover in its Inspirational Women profile, named a Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer to Know by Becker’s Healthcare, and recognized as a 2024 Remarkable Woman by Fox 5 San Diego.
