Rosa María is an accomplished executive who is deeply committed to promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in all aspects of life. Her exceptional ability to bring together strategic program initiatives, community relations, and development has earned her several national and regional awards, including Coors Light Lideres, and recognition from the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Her inspiring story, featured in Sharp HealthCare, aims to empower and inspire executives, Latinas, juvenile diabetics, and new mothers during the pandemic.
Rosa María’s unwavering dedication to serving the community is reflected in her board memberships at LEAD San Diego and Association of Fundraising Professionals. As a proud alumna of HOPE, Hispanas Organized for Political Empowerment, USC/UCSD WIN Women’s Negotiation and Leadership Program, and the inaugural class of MANA de San Diego Latina Success Leadership Program, she has forged pathways, leveraged networks, and united diverse communities to achieve success.
Raised in Southeast San Diego, Rosa María is one of five sisters actively serving their community. She attended San Diego State University and is a founding member of Lambda Theta Alpha, Latin Sorority Inc., Gamma Psi Chapter. Currently pursuing a master’s degree at the University of San Diego, Rosa María is happily married to her husband Joseph and is the proud mother of a 2-year-old daughter, Leilani Vida. Her story is one of resilience and inspiration for anyone seeking to positively impact the world. Rosa María Hernández is honored to work alongside community leaders and serve as Reality Changers new Vice President of Programs.
