Reality Changers would like to welcome Dr. Miriam Wood Alameda and Tom Holcomb Jr. to our team! Miriam will be serving as our new Director of the Alumni Network and Tom will be joining our College Apps Academy Team as a Coach.
Miriam Wood Alameda, Ph. D. is a first-generation graduate with over 13 years of experience in higher education administration and student success. Miriam says, “serving first-generation students is my purpose and how I see myself contributing to a better world.” She is proud of growing up in Tijuana and San Diego.
Prior to joining Reality Changers, Miriam served as the Assistant Director of the President’s Emerging Scholars Program at the University of Minnesota. She also worked at the Health and Wellness Unit and in Multicultural Student Services at the University of North Dakota. Miriam loves going to the beach, running, and drinking coffee.
Tom Holcomb Jr. is originally from western Kentucky. He has been in the counseling and student development field for 19 years, with experience serving first-generation and underrepresented students. He is a credentialed Career Service Provider who has worked for the San Francisco Conservation Corps, the Educational Advancement Program (Trio Student Support Services) at the University of Tennessee Knoxville., Murray State University, and College Success at UTK.
Tom working on a Ph. D at Sofia Univesity. He loves the outdoors, traveling, cooking, watching movies, and playing board games.
