Reality Changers is proud to welcome Gloria Corral to our team as Interim CEO! Gloria plans to focus on priorities and identify opportunities for growth and innovation, so that she can set the organization up for future success.

Ms. Corral is a visionary leader with over 25 years of experience advancing educational equity and social justice for families across California and the nation. Born in Tijuana and raised in San Ysidro, her binational, multicultural upbringing deeply informs her lifelong commitment to expanding access to quality education for all children and families.
Corral most recently served as President and CEO of the Parent Institute for Quality Education (PIQE), a San Diego-based organization dedicated to empowering families with the knowledge and skills to support and advocate for their children’s education. During her six-and-a-half-year tenure, she led a remarkable organizational transformation — doubling the team, tripling the = budget, and nearly quadrupling the number of schools and families served, reaching over 18,000 families annually across California and partnering with districts in 13 states.
Her career spans the full educational continuum — from early learning through higher education — with experience at the U.S. Department of Education, the House of Representatives, and the Senate. She previously served as Assistant Executive Director at First 5 San Diego, where she led San Diego County’s Quality Early Learning efforts and other key initiatives for children ages 0–5 and their families. Her expertise in education policy includes a deep focus on Dual Language Learners, system integration, and the design and implementation of programs shaped by years of collaboration with state departments of education, local and state nonprofits, advocacy organizations, and large school districts.
Corral currently serves as Board Secretary for the San Diego Foundation Board of Directors, where she continues her commitment to advancing equity and opportunity in the region. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, San Diego, and a master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of California, Berkeley. She is the proud mother of two sons, Diego Emilio and Gael Antonio, who fuel her passion for creating a more equitable future for all children.
The Reality Changers Board of Directors looks forward to collaborating with Gloria while they search for a new Permanent CEO who will build on the organization’s strong legacy and lead us into the future. This will be a thoughtful process, conducted with all Reality Changers’ stakeholders, especially our students & families, in mind.
