During this virtual event, youth from underrepresented backgrounds will meet working professionals and learn about career paths. As a Virtual Job Shadow Week Host, you can help high school students to plan ahead and spark new ideas about their futures.

As a result of their participation in Job Shadow Week, students will:

  • Make connections between academic goals, college selection, and career goals
  • Develop relationships with industry professionals
  • Build knowledge about industry-specific career pathways and opportunities

FAQs for Prospective Hosts

Host a 45-minute virtual session for high school students, with direction and facilitation support from Reality Changers staff.

  • Provide students with an inside look into the work you do and your personal career journey
  • Share information about your day-to-day responsibilities, your goals, and your story
  • Connect with students who are interested in entering your field
  • Share your insight about industry-relevant high school and college courses or activities
  • Answer student questions

Each virtual session will be limited to 5 to 10 students. Our hope is that with small groups, students can engage with each other and with you in a more authentic way.

We will work to accommodate everyone’s desire to participate. If you would like to host multiple sessions (either in the same day or throughout the week) please indicate this on the Host Sign Up Form.

We want to be as accommodating as possible! If your schedule changes or there is a conflict, please notify
