College Town News

College Town is currently serving 220 students on a weekly basis including our site in North County.

We have recently partnered with David’s Harp Foundation where 4 of our students are getting the opportunity to learn how to use the power of media production to enhance their academic performance & personal development.

We are also partnering with “So Say We All” which is a literary and performing arts non profit organization whose mission is to create opportunities for individuals to tell their stories. Students will receive a 2 month workshop series which will enhance their writing and performance skills as they learn how to share their own stories in unique and meaningful ways. The workshop series will also give the students the opportunity to share their stories at a community event later this year.

The Class of 2019 is currently going through our ACT Preparation course led by the Princeton Review. They are working on their test taking strategies to best prepare them for the ACT exam in April.

Over the past few months we have worked with over 200 8th graders at our challenge assemblies with our partner middle schools, Bell Middle School, Memorial Scholars & Athletes Middle School, Wilson Middle School & Clark Middle School. After 2 rounds of challenge assemblies we are now entering the final challenge phase and are getting ready to admit new 8th graders by late March.
