Comprehensive Weekly Mentoring Program
Reality Changers students in the 8th-11th grade participate in weekly, three-hour leadership trainings that prepare them for the SAT exam, college, and beyond. College students and community volunteers provide tutoring. More info

UC San Diego’s Academic Connections
Reality Changers students who achieve a 3.5 GPA or higher receive a $3,500 scholarship to attend this intensive three-week college residential program offered to high school students around the world. More info

Summer Leadership Camp
Reality Changers students earn a $500 scholarship to this week-long camp where they can find a place away from the distractions of day-to-day life to strengthen their faith and commitment to the program. More info

Community Service
All Reality Changers students are expected to volunteer for a minimum of 50 hours every year. Reality Changers offers service opportunities to its students at least 30 weekends per year, which serve tens of thousands of San Diegans annually.

Monthly Speech Tournaments
Reality Changers students compete in monthly Speech Tournaments where they are judged based on content, presentation and delivery. Students compete for an opportunity to speak at Reality Changers’ Community Celebration and the largest event of the year, the annual Scholarship Tribute. Random Drug Testing
All Reality Changers students are randomly tested for drugs at least once a year. Not a single student has ever tested positive for drugs during the program’s first ten years of existence.

College Forums
Approximately once a month, admissions officers from universities across the nation visit Reality Changers students to share opportunities that their universities have to offer first generation college students.

Laptops
All graduates of the comprehensive tutoring program who attend a four-year university and move out of their family’s home will receive a brand new laptop computer.
